ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Barb Yates and I have been blessed with an artistic talent. I haven't had any professional training or schooling in Art, it just comes naturally, and I am truly blessed to have been given such an incredible gift.
Like many artists, I have been passionate about drawing, painting and design. For me, however, I didn't pursue this life path until recently, other than dabbling in Art over the years of my life.
When a sudden tragedy struck, the unexpected loss of my Husband, I finally decided to pursue my passion, as he had encouraged for years. Charley is smiling now!
I choose to work in Pastels and Charcoals, and most recently Watercolors(see Watercolor Gallery) These mediums allow me to create with rich detail, vibrant, intense color and lasting quality.
I use high quality Canson or Strathmore Papers in heavyweights(like a cardstock), with luxurious feel. I also paint(Pastels) on Pastel board on occasion
I owe a huge debt of Thanks, to my dear friend, you know who you are, as with your ongoing encouragement to keep going, I have achieved the confidence in my work and am ready to share it with the world! Thank You My Dear Friend.
I have had commissions from all over the USA and Internationally as well, and I am Thankful and honored to have been able to bring joy, through my Art, to others.
